There has always been backlash to the old actors, especially Burton even if a lot of the reason was the writing of Cloud in that time of his life, and this change does breath some new air to the game. They're trying to do something new with 7R, and while the old cast weren't universally bad in every appearance (hell, Burton was at least decent in CC) the new actors, especially for Cloud and Tifa, sound leagues better in almost every way than their counterparts. It's become all too common as of late to recast actors without allowing them a chance to audition or try for the role (NGE, Tales of Vespiria etc etc) but in this case, I feel quite understanding of Square. I was expecting, as a voice actor myself, to dislike the change. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think it was right to change the voice actors without letting the fans or voice actors know while Japan get to keep their beloved voice actors? Not only that, the English Voice actors are being tossed aside to only work in the 'side projects' after working for Square Enix for 14 long years even though the voice actors grew the franchise by their hard works and memorable performances.
